World No Tobacco Day

Well, it's The World Health Organization's "World No Tobacco Day," as they tout their global Prohibitionist message.
To celebrate, go to your local cigar shop, buy a cigar and enjoy, or call a friend, gather and Puff for Liberty on this beautiful day.
How will you celebrate?

I celebrated by ordering two boxes of cigars!

Crusader Church in Ein Karem near Jerusalem

Feast of the Visitation of Mary (Mother of Jesus) to her cousin Elizabeth (Mother of John The Baptist) in Ein Karem
Ein Karem – where Mary exclaimed the Magnificat – “my soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit doth rejoice in God my Savior.”

Crusader Church of the Visitation
In Ein Karem near Jerusalem

According to Christian tradition, John the Baptist was born in Ein Karem, leading to the establishment of many churches and monasteries. In 2010 the neighborhood had a population of 2,000.  It attracts three million visitors a year, one-third of them pilgrims from around the world.

According to the Bible, Mary went "into the hill country, to a city of Judah" when she visited the home of Zechariah and Elizabeth. According to Catholic tradition and dogma, Mary brought forth the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. Theodosius (530) says that the distance from Jerusalem to the place where Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, lived is five miles. The Jerusalem Calendar (dated before 638) mentions the village by name as the place of a festival in memory of Elizabeth celebrated on the twenty-eighth of August.

The Anglo Saxon Saewulf on pilgrimage to Palestine in 1102-1103 wrote of a monastery in the area of Ein Karim dedicated to St. Sabas where 300 monks had been "slain by Saracens.” The site of this crusader church was purchased by Father Thomas of Novaria in 1621.

In 1672 the Franciscan order received a “Firman” from the Ottoman Sultan and 'large sums of mon[ies]' were expended in an extensive rebuilding program.

The Visitation

May 31:  Feast of the Visitation
This is a fairly late feast, going back only to the 13th or 14th century. It was established widely throughout the Church to pray for unity. The present date of celebration was set in 1969 in order to follow the Annunciation of the Lord (March 25) and precede the Nativity of John the Baptist (June 24).

Elizabeth says to Mary:
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
From the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Mary says to Elizabeth:
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord! (the Magnificat)
From this day, all generations will call me blessed.
The Almighty has done great things for me, and Holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him.

Mary remained with Elizabeth bout three months and then returned to her home.  (They did a lot of shopping for baby clothes.)

Memorial Day: A Soldier's Story

During World War One, on September 14th, in Noyon, France, a young corporal lay dying among wounded comrades. The officers had signaled to me that the poor fellow was lying in a field. When I got near him, leaning down, I said, “It’s me!”
“Who are you?” he asked. I realized that the man’s head was bleeding, his forehead was split open and his eyes had been gouged out. “I’m the chaplain,” I said, very moved, “I am here at your side!”
“Oh, Mr. Chaplain, the Blessed Virgin is so good!” Then he raised his right arm that was holding a Rosary and exclaimed: “All night long, I have been asking her to send a priest this way. I am so glad you’re here!”
He was shaking with fever. I took him to a nearby farm and dressed his wounds. He was beaming with happiness. His leg had been broken in the attack. A German passing by had given him a drink; another, at close range, shot him three times, the last bullet opening his forehead.
During his night of agony every time I bent over him, this young man kept saying: “Hail Mary …” and kept repeating: “How glad I am, Mr. Chaplain! The Holy Virgin is so good to have brought you here to me!”
He died three days later with a smile on his face.

Prayer For Deceased Military
O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on your departed warriors who gave their lives in the service of our country.
Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of Your Son they may share in the joy of Your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in You with Your saints forever.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

19-Year-Old Girl Burned At The Stake

May 30:  Feast of St. Joan of Arc (1412 - 1431)

Burned at the stake as a heretic after a politically-motivated trial, Joan was beatified in 1909 and canonized in 1920.

Born of a fairly well-to-do peasant couple in Domremy-Greux (southeast of Paris), Joan was only 12 when she experienced a vision and heard voices that she later identified as Sts. Michael the Archangel, Catherine of Alexandria, and Margaret of Antioch.

During the Hundred Years War, she led French troops against the English and recaptured the cities of OrlĂ©ans and Troyes. This enabled Charles VII to be crowned as king in Reims in 1429. Captured near Compiegne the following year, she was sold to the English and placed on trial for heresy and witchcraft. Professors at the University of Paris supported Bishop Pierre Cauchon of Beauvis, the judge at her trial; Cardinal Henry Beaufort of Winchester, England, participated in the questioning of Joan in prison. In the end, she was condemned for wearing men's clothes. The English resented France's military success–to which Joan contributed.

On this day in 1431, she was burned at the stake in Rouen, and her ashes were scattered in the Seine River. A second Church trial 25 years later nullified the earlier verdict, which was reached under political pressure.

Remembered by most people for her military exploits, Joan had a great love for the sacraments, which strengthened her compassion toward the poor. Popular devotion to her increased greatly in 19th-century France and later among French soldiers during World War I. Theologian George Tavard writes that her life "offers a perfect example of the conjunction of contemplation and action" because her spiritual insight is that there should be a "unity of heaven and earth."

Joan of Arc has been the subject of many books, plays, operas, and movies.

Drink of the Day: St-Germain Liqueur

This is expensive but tastes so good in cocktails!     Toast of the Day:  “Happy feast day, Saint Germain.  Viva Le France!”

St-Germain is a liqueur made from elderflowers which are handpicked from the Alps and transported down to the distillery by bicycle.  The elderflowers are in bloom for only four to six weeks in the spring and must be harvested quickly.  The liqueur is complex with hints of passion fruit, peach, pear, and grapefruit zest.   It can be sipped neat but is far more magical when used in cocktails as St-Germain Cocktail and St-Germain Martini.

Who was St. Germain-des-Pres (AKA: Germanus of Paris)?
He was born in 496 AD of Gallo-Roman parents, and he became the abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Symphorian near that town. He was hard-working and austere, and his alms-giving was so generous that his monks, fearing he would give away everything, rebelled.
As he happened to be in Paris, in 555, when Eusebius, bishop of Paris, died, King Childebert detained him and he was consecrated bishop of Paris.  He died at Paris in 576.
He was canonized in 754 AD, and his relics were solemnly removed into the body of the church, in the presence of Pepin and his son, Charlemagne, then a child of 13, and the church was reconsecrated as Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s
For nine centuries, in times of plague and crisis, his relics were carried in procession through the streets of Paris.
A district of Paris is named for his church.
He feast day is May 28.

The Amazing Story Behind Wisconsin’s St. Joan of Arc Chapel from France

On Marquette University’s campus in Wisconsin, you’ll find a fairly ordinary looking chapel dedicated to St. Joan of Arc.
But looks can be deceiving. This chapel actually has three amazing things about it:
First, it contains a stone on which St. Joan of Arc may have personally prayed. That makes the stone a third class relic.
Second, it was originally built in France in the 15th century and moved to Wisconsin at a later date.
And third, since Mass is still offered there several times a week, it is the oldest structure in the western hemisphere still used for its original purpose.
This video explains the incredible story:

From Arles to the Alps

Would you be willing to relocate from beautiful Arles in the south of France to the snowy mountains of the Alps?
We will even give you a dog to keep you company!

St. Bernard of Montjoux (c. 923–1008), also known as St. Bernard of Menthon, was born to a wealthy and noble family in the Kingdom of Arles (present day France and Switzerland). As an adult he refused an honorable marriage and instead determined to give his life in service to the Church. He became a priest in northern Italy and spent more than four decades doing missionary work in the Alps.

He built schools and churches, and is especially known for aiding travelers. The area where he ministered had an ancient, snowy, and dangerous pass winding through the mountains along which pilgrims traveled to and from Rome.

To serve the pilgrims St. Bernard built a hospice at the highest point of the pass, 8,000 feet above sea level. Later he founded another hospice along another smaller pass. St. Bernard obtained papal approval for communities of priests to serve in the hospices, which have generously aided travelers for more than a millennium.

The priests and their well-trained dogs (the St. Bernard breed named for the saint) would seek out lost pilgrims.

About Laura

Do you know anyone named Laura?
Do you know the origin of the name?
Does this describe their personality?

Characteristics of Laura
Authoritative
Powerful
Tough
Tenacious
Wealthy
Problem-solver
Achiever

Etymology & Historical Origin - Laura
Laura is the feminine version of the Late Latin male name “Laurus” meaning ‘laurel’ – which is a symbol of wisdom, honor and accomplishment. In fact, it was the leaves from laurel trees that were used to make the garlands worn by victors in the days of ancient Rome. The name was borne by a 9th century Spanish nun who was martyred as Saint Laura of Cordoba. During the occupation of the Iberian peninsula by the Moors (mainly Northern Africans, Arabs and Muslims), Laura was scalded to death for her Christian beliefs in a cauldron of boiling lead. Like many famous early saints, her name spread throughout Europe in medieval times. However, what really impacted the usage of the name Laura was the 14th century Italian poet Petrarch. Laura was the object of his desire and the reason he abandoned the priesthood. He haunted her in many sonnets. She apparently aroused all his passionate love which he was unable to reconcile with his religious expectations. Since Laura was a married woman, Petrarch’s love would remain unrequited. Therefore, Laura is often associated with a beautiful woman loved, but one who is out of reach.

Personality of the Girl Name Laura

The number Eight personality has everything to do with power, wealth and abundance. Somehow, this personality has been blessed on the material plane, but their authoritative and problem-solving traits provide evidence that their good fortunes are not just the luck of the lottery. They are well earned. This is the personality of CEOs and high-ranking military personnel. Eights are intensely active, hard-driving individuals. Success is only meaningful to them after a job well-done.  They are remarkable in their ability to see the larger picture right down to the smallest details, and organize a strategy around success. They then have the ability to direct a group around them toward any goal, and realize individual potential to get the most out of their team.

Why you should drink Napoleon Brandy today

In 1808, Napoleon arrested Pope Pius VII and threw him into prison.  In 1815, Napoleon released the pope from prison in Savona.   The pope traveled to Rome, stopping at Marian shrines along the way to give thanks, and he arrived back at the Vatican on May 24, 1815.   After Napoleon lost the Battle of Waterloo later that year, Pope Pius declared May 24 as the Feast of Mary Help of Christians.

To celebrate this defeat of Napoleon and to honor Mary, you should drink a glass of Napoleon brandy because to the victor goes the spoils.  For a special treat, drink a cognac which is a brandy made only in the Cognac region of France and which is renowned for its smoothness.

A Toast:  “To Our Lady Help of Christians!  Through her prayers and patronage, may the enemies of our Holy Father and the Church meet their Waterloo.”

Stupid Is As Stupid Does

From a friend . . .

Ask any person, not your child, between the ages of 18 and 25, if they ever heard of the Nuremberg Trials. 1 in 13 might say they have, but will not be able to tell you "what" was on trial (not who). Those same people will not be able to tell you the name of the Vice President. 84% of those who receive this will not read it completely, or at all. 10% will but will also choose not to forward it. The remaining 6% will forward it.

The war started in the 7th century and lasted through the 17th century. I would contend it never stopped, but historically the facts below are correct.    This is why I choke when I hear someone say we will defeat or contain these Islamic terrorists in a few years, or even 30 years as recently stated by Leon Panetta.    If the latest batch of murders, beheadings, and killing of innocent Christians has shocked you, maybe you should read this compilation of historical facts about the hatred of Muslims.

WE, THE STUPID!    This is factually (and historically) correct - and verifiable:

In 732 A.D. the Muslim Army, which was moving on Paris, was defeated and turned back at Tours, France, by Charles Martell.
In 1571 A.D. the Muslim Army/Navy was defeated by the Italians and Austrians as they tried to cross the Mediterranean to attack southern Europe in the Battle of Lepanto.
In 1683 A.D. the Turkish Muslim Army, attacking Eastern Europe, was finally defeated in the Battle of Vienna by German and Polish Christian Armies.

This has been going on for 1,400 years and half of the politicians don't even know it.    If these battles had not been won, we might be speaking Arabic and Christianity could be non-existent; Judaism certainly would not exist.    Reflecting: A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine that America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves. Pause a moment and reflect back.

These events are actual events from history. They really happened! Do you remember?

47 years since 1968 and this just keeps going on and on.

   1. In 1968, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim male.
   2. In 1972, at the Munich Olympics, Israeli athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim males.
    3. In 1972, a Pan Am 747 was hijacked and eventually diverted to Cairo where a fuse was lit on final approach.   Shortly after landing it was blown up by Muslim males.
    4. In 1973, a Pan Am 707 was destroyed in Rome, with 33 people killed, when it was attacked with grenades by Muslim males.
    5. In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslim males.
    6. During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslim males.
    7. In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslim males.
    8. In 1985, the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70-year old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by Muslim males.
    9. In 1985, TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by Muslim males.
    10. In 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by Muslim males.
    11. In 1993, the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by Muslim males.
    12. In 1998, the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim males.
    13. On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take down the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by Muslim males.
    14. In 2002, the United States fought a war in Afghanistan against Muslim males.
    15. In 2002, reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded by - you guessed it - a Muslim male. (Plus two other American journalists who were just recently beheaded).
    16. In 2013, the Boston Marathon Bombing resulted in 4 Innocent people, (including a child) being killed and 264 people injured by Muslim males.

No Obama, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.    So, ask yourself "Just how stupid are we???"    Absolutely No Profiling! They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the Obama's security detail, 85-year-old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, BUT.......leave Muslim Males alone lest we be guilty of profiling.

Ask yourself, "Just how stupid are we?" Have the American people completely lost their minds or just their Power of Reason???

Let 's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Alred's and other stupid attorneys, along with Federal Justices, that want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves -- if they have any such sense.

As the writer of the award winning story " Forrest Gump " so aptly put it, "Stupid Is As Stupid Does."

Each opportunity that you have to send this to a friend or media outlet... Do It!
OR JUST SIT BACK, KEEP GRIPING, AND DO NOTHING.

As OBAMA SAID IN HIS BOOK: “NOTHING SOUNDS SO BEAUTIFUL AS THE MUSLIM EVENING PRAYERS FROM THE TOWER.”

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

 This is pretty cool….

This will save you a trip to NYC and the $32 per adult admission.   Enjoy.

Which Irish Monk discovered America?

Be sure to celebrate the day with Irish Whiskey followed by St. Brendan's Irish Creme . . .
Saint Brendan of Clonfert or BrĂ©anainn of Clonfert (c. 484 – c. 577) called "the Navigator", "the Voyager", or "the Bold" is one of the early Irish monastic saints. He is chiefly renowned for his legendary quest to the "Isle of the Blessed," also called Saint Brendan's Island. The Voyage of Saint Brendan could be called an immram (Irish navigational story). He was one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland.[2]
St Brendan is chiefly renowned for his legendary journey to the Isle of the Blessed as described in the ninth century Voyage of St Brendan the Navigator. Many versions exist that tell of how he set out onto the Atlantic Ocean with sixteen pilgrims (other versions have fourteen, plus three unbelievers who join at the last minute) searching for the Garden of Eden.[9] One of these companions is said to have been Saint Malo, the namesake of Saint-Malo. If it happened, this would have occurred sometime between AD 512–530, before his travel to the island of Great Britain. On his trip, Brendan is supposed to have seen Saint Brendan's Island, a blessed island covered with vegetation. He also encountered a sea monster, an adventure he shared with his contemporary Saint Columba. The most commonly illustrated adventure is his landing on an island which turns out to be a giant sea monster called Jasconius or Jascon. This too, has its parallels in other stories, not only in Irish mythology but in other traditions, from Sinbad the Sailor to Pinocchio.

Saint Brendan's feast day is celebrated on 16 May by Catholics, Anglicans, and Eastern Orthodox Christians.

The Death of St. Brendan by Tolkien

May 16:  How should we celebrate this Feast of St. Brendan – the Irish monk who first discovered America?

Drink St. Brendan’s Irish Cream liqueur over ice and read this poem by Tolkien (author of Lord of the Rings) aloud to your friends.
Try not to get your tears in your liqueur!

The Death of Saint Brendan
by J.R.R. Tolkien

At last out of the deep seas he passed,
and mist rolled on the shore;
under clouded moon the waves were loud,
as the laden ship him bore
to Ireland, back to wood and mire,
to the tower tall and grey,
where the knell of Cluian-ferta’s bell
tolled in the green Galway.
Where Shannon down to Lough Derg ran
under a rainclad sky
Saint Brendan came to his journey’s end
to await his hour to die.

‘O! tell me, father, for I loved you well,
if still you have words for me,
of things strange in the remembering
in the long and lonely sea,
of islands by deep spells beguiled
where dwell the Elven-kind:
in seven long years the road to Heaven
or the Living Land did you find?’

‘The things I have seen, the many things,
have long now faded far;
only three come clear now back to me:
a Cloud, a Tree, a Star.
We sailed for a year and a day and hailed
no field nor coast of mean;
no boat nor bird saw we ever afloat
for forty days and ten.
We saw no sun at set or dawn,
but a dun cloud lay ahead,
and a drumming there was like thunder coming
and a gleam of fiery red.

Upreared from sea to cloud then sheer
a shoreless mountain stood;
its sides were black from the sullen tide
to the red lining of its hood.
No cloak of cloud, no lowering smoke,
no looming storm of thunder
in the world of men saw I ever unfurled
like the pall that we passed under.
We turned away, and we left astern
the rumbling and the gloom;
then the smoking cloud asunder broke,
and we saw the Tower of Doom:
in its ashen head was a crown of red,
where the fishes flamed and fell.
Tall as a column in High Heaven’s hall,
its feet were deep as Hell;
grounded in chasms the water drowned
and buried long ago,
it stands, I ween, in forgotten lands
where the kings of kings lie low.

We sailed then on, till the wind had failed,
and we toiled then with the oar,
and hunger an thirst us sorely wrung,
and we sang our psalms no more.
A land at last with a silver strand
at the end of strenght we found;
the waves were singing in pillared caves
and pearls lay on the ground;
and steep the shores went upward leaping
to slopes of green and gold,
and a stream out of rich and teeming
through a coomb of shadow rolled.

Through gates of stone we rowed in haste,
and passed and left the sea;
and silence like dew fell in that isle,
and holy it seemed to be.
As a green cup, deep in a brim of green,
that with wine the white sun fills
was the land we found, and we saw there stand
on a laund between the hills
a tree more fair than ever I deemed
might climb in Paradise;
its foot was like a great tower’s root,
it height beyond men’s eyes;
so wide its branches, the least could hold
in shade an acre long,
and they rose as steep as mountain-snows
those boughs so broad and strong;
for white as a winter to my sight
the leaves of that tree were,
they grew more close than swan-wing plumes,
all long and soft and fair.

We deemed then, maybe, as in a dream,
that time had passed away
and our journey ended; for no return
we hoped, but there to stay.
In the silence of that hollow isle,
in the stillness, then we sang-
softly us seemed, but the sound aloft
like a pealing organ rang.
Then trembled the tree from crown to stem;
from the limbs the leaves in air
as white birds fled in wheeling flight,
and left the branches bare.
From the the sky came dropping down on high
a music not of bird,
not voice of man, nor angel’s voice;
but maybe there is a third
fair kindred in the world yet lingers
beyond the foundered land.
Yet steep are the seas and the waters deep
beyond the White-tree Strand.’

‘O! stay now father! There’s more to say.
But two things you have told:
The Tree, the Cloud; but you spoke of three.
The Star in mind you hold?’
‘The Star? Yes, I saw it, high and far,
at the parting of the ways,
a light on the edge of the Outer Night
like silver set ablaze,
where the round world plunges steeply down,
but on the old road goes,
as an unseen bridge that on the arches runs
to coasts than no man knows.’

‘But men say, father that ere the end
you went where none have been.
I would here you tell me, father dear,
of the last land you have seen.’

‘In my mind the Star I still can find,
and the parting of the seas,
and the breath as sweet and keen as death
that was borne upon the breeze.
But where they they bloom those flowers fair,
in what air or land they grow,
what words beyond the world I heard,
if you would seek to know,
in a boat then, brother, far afloat
you must labour in the sea,
and find for yourself things out of mind:
you will learn no more of me.’

In Ireland, over wood and mire,
in the tower tall and grey,
the knell of Cluain-ferta’s bell
was tolling in green Galway.
Saint Brendan had come to his life’s end
under a rainclad sky,
and journeyed whence no ship returns,
and his bones in Ireland lie.

Have You Ever Been Told The Story of Safiyah?

From Faith & Freedom Coalition

One of many stories of Islam that you infidels are not allowed talk about.

The Story Of Safiyah – 60-year-old Mohammed murdered Safiyah’s father, husband, and other relatives before raping her.

Safiyah was a beautiful 17 years old Jewish woman who was captured when Muhammad’s troops raided Kheibar. She was the daughter or Huyeiy Ibn Akhtab, the chief of the Banu Nadir, a Jewish tribe of Medina , whom Muhammad had beheaded two years earlier along with the men of Banu Quriaza. The tribe of Banu Nadir had been already banished from Medina and their properties were confiscated.

Safiyah had married to her cousin Kinana, who was a young Jewish leader of Kheibar. When Muhammad raided that fortress, he killed its unarmed men and captured the rest. A Jewish traitor, (reminds me of Noam Chomsky) to gain Muhammad’s favor and be spared from death, told him that Kinana was the treasurer of the town and that he used to hide the money in some ruins. Muhammad ordered Kinana to be tortured to reveal the whereabouts of the treasures and killed him.

Then he asked the prettiest woman from amongst that captives to be brought to him. Ibn Ishaq writes: "The apostle occupied the Jewish forts one after the other, taking prisoners as he went.  Among these were Safiya, the wife of Kinana, the Khaibar chief, and two female cousins: [sisters of Kinana] the apostle chose Safiya for himself.  The other prisoners were distributed among the Muslims.  Bilal brought Safiya to the apostle, and they passed the bodies of several Jews on the way.  Safiya's female companions lamented and strewed dust on their heads.  When the apostle of Allâh observed this scene, he said, 'Remove these she devils from me.'  But he ordered Safiya to remain, and threw his reda [cloak] over her.  So the Muslims knew he had reserved her for his own.  The apostle reprimanded Bilal, saying, 'Hast thou lost all feelings of mercy, to make women pass by the corpses of their husbands?'”

Safiyah was taken to Muhammad’s tent. Muhammad wanted to have sex with her on that very night, only hours after torturing to death her husband. She resisted his advances. That night Abu Ayyub al-Ansari guarded the tent of Muhammad. When, in the early dawn,  Muhammad saw Abu Ayyub strolling up and down, he asked him what he meant by this sentry-go; he replied: "I was afraid for you with this young lady. You had killed her father, her husband and many of her relatives, I was really afraid for you on her account". (Ibn Ishaq, p. 766)

The next day Muhammad covered Safiyah with his mantle, an act signifying that she is now his. Safiyah was groomed and made-up for Muhammad by Umm Sulaim, the mother of Anas ibn Malik and was taken to Muhammad who married her in a mock marriage ceremony and raped her that night. Muslims call this marriage. I call that rape. I am certain not many young women would like to jump into bed with an old man who happens to be the murderer of their father and husband and many other relatives. That poor woman had no choice; therefore that marriage was nothing but a mockery of this sacred institution. At that time Muhammad was close to sixty years old.

The Story Of Rayhanah
Another victim of Muhammad was Rayhana, a 15 year old girl from the tribe of Banu Quraiza. Muhammad massacred all the men of that tribe. Then women were brought to him to pick and he chose Rayhana. Rayhana never married Muhammad and unlike Safiyah never feigned being a Muslim to have an easier life. She preferred to remain a sex slave rather the wife of the murderer of her father, brothers and uncles.

Donald Trump was openly supportive of Mitt Romney's candidacy.
Donald Trump does not seem to hold political party organizations in high regard.
For the most part, his political involvement has been for practical reasons.
Donald Trump does not appear to be held to political ideology.
 Some of my take aways:

  • Trump has an extraordinarily energetic central nervous system much like Teddy Roosevelt but more targeted to industry and enterprise.
  • Trump's presidency will be very energetic, transparent, and communicative.
  • Trump will be a very hard working President.
  • His interaction with his older brother (who everybody loved) tells me that he thinks that everybody is like him - or wants to be - or should be.
  • His relationship with his older brother was a hard lesson in tolerance for him.
  • Trump is the Babe Ruth of career achievements.
  • He is dumb like a fox. When you think he just said something stupid - he didn't. It's just that you were not his target audience.
  • Trump knows the people - the folk.
  • His son, Donald Jr. is right. Trump is a "Blue Collar Billionaire".
  • More than anything, his TV show, The Apprentice, was his passion. He wants all Americans to have confidence (like he does) to venture.
  • Donald Trump is attracted to and marries smart, high achieving women.
  • The highest levels of a Trump Administration is certain to have many women - and they will be bright and assertive.
  • Donald Trump's children are very important to him. And it shows.
