Let's stop playing the blame game.

After reading Jack Van Ens’ column “A fiscal diet for Wall Street’s fat cats” which was published in the October 21 Denver Post YourHub, I had to write a few words in response.  Van Ens presents the leftist view of the causes of the current economic disaster and lays the blame on Wall Street and the so called wealthy 1%.   Van Ens echoes the progressive belief that the current economic down turn is all the fault of greedy bankers and Wall Street.   Van Ens engages in the blame game.  We love to blame “The Man.”  In this case the popular target is Big Business and the rich.   This attack upon big business and the wealthy of our country is not new. The same thing happened during The Great Depression by blaming Wall Street which is exactly what Van Ens proceeds to do in his article.
Van Ens starts out by blasting Herman Cain and Mitt Romney for their comments about the economy, and he says that they need a refresher course on U. S. financial history.   However, Jack also shows a lack of understanding when he proceeds to blame Big Business for “playing a leading role” in the Great Depression and claims that President Roosevelt’s Big Government came to the rescue and cleansed the temple of these “unscrupulous money changers” who get the blame for that economic collapse.
The progressive political viewpoints of Keynesians such as Jack greatly color their analysis of historic events that occurred eight decades ago.  The Keynesian versus Monetarists debate continue as to whether the Great Depression was primarily a failure on the part of free markets or a failure of government efforts to regulate interest rates, curtail widespread bank failures, and control the money supply. Those who believe in Big Government believe that it was primarily a failure of free markets, while those who believe in a smaller role for the state believe that it was primarily a failure of government that compounded the problem.   The Monetarists, who believe that the Great Depression started as an ordinary recession, but that significant policy mistakes by monetary authorities (especially the Federal Reserve), caused a shrinking of the money supply which greatly exacerbated the economic situation, causing a recession to descend into the Great Depression.   Monetarists, including Frederick Hayek, Milton Friedman, and Ben Bernanke argued that the Great Depression was mainly caused by monetary contraction, the consequence of poor policy-making by the Federal Reserve System and continued crisis in the banking system.
As the Depression wore on, Franklin D. Roosevelt tried public works, farm subsidies, and other Keynesian devices to restart the US economy.  According to the Keynesians, this improved the economy, but the Monetarists will tell you that Roosevelt’s action prolonged the suffering by throwing money into Big Government stimulus programs that failed and did not bring the economy out of recession for 10 years.  Most historians and economists partly blame the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 for worsening the depression by seriously reducing international trade and causing retaliatory tariffs in other countries.
The current debate about our economy is playing out very similarly.  My Keynesian friends tell me that the ongoing decline of the private sector has absolutely nothing to do with the $14 trillion federal debt and the $1.5 trillion annual deficit.  In his article, Van Ens claims the Wall Street “money changers” are the villains.  Progressives such as Van Ens believe that the wealthy skated scot-free from the meltdown, benefited from the bailouts, and are primarily responsible for the loss of jobs, and that government has nothing to do with it.  But that belief presupposes that Wall Street and Big Government are somehow natural antagonists, which is certainly not true.  Recent Republican and Democrat administrations were and are full of Wall Street veterans.
Van Ens says that Big Government needs to “cleanse Manhattan’s concrete canyons of rotten financial deals.”   However, our current problems can be traced to the history of crony capitalism during recent president’s administrations.   As Denver talk radio host Mike Rosen says in one of his Denver Post columns, “It's not surprising that leftists, who worship at the shrine of big government, ignore the foundational role of government in this fiasco. If they laid the blame at the feet of their savior, it would contradict their blind faith in statism.”   Big Government is an equal partner is this economic destruction as is clearly evident in the rotten financial deals such as Solyndra, Fannie Mae, and auto company bailouts.
Congressman Paul Ryan gets to the heart of the problem when he says we should stop this Big Government and Big Business collusion and "lower the amount of government spending the wealthy now receive." The "true sources of inequity in this country," he says, are "corporate welfare that enriches the powerful, and empty promises that betray the powerless."  The real class warfare that threatens us is "a class of bureaucrats and connected crony capitalists trying to rise above the rest of us, call the shots, rig the rules, and preserve their place atop society."
As Denver Post columnist Vincent Carroll says, “the political left needs a bogeyman to buttress the thesis that growing income inequality is destroying the middle class and requires higher taxes on the rich to rectify the trend.”   If we are not careful, we will fall to the progressive politicians’ rhetoric and do the same thing this time as was done during the Great Depression.
Let’s remember that banks and their Wall Street investors didn’t force millions of Americans against their wills to sign loan agreements.  While there were some predator lenders the vast majority were simply following the rules and regulations set by our government.  If you bought a house you cannot afford you are the one truly at fault.  No one forced anyone to sign a loan they did not want.
Let’s stop blaming Big Business.    Sure there is greed on Wall Street. No one in America is promised riches or wealth or even a free meal.    It is time we all stopped looking for a rich Bogeyman to blame   Lets remember that when big business thrives so does the common worker. Big business is not the problem; it is the solution. The way out of this crisis is to stimulate business giving them incentives and advantages that help them not hinder them. Part of the auto industries problems lies in all the regulations Washington has placed upon them. Big business creates jobs that last. While we should never simply let businesses run rampart we should do all that we can to allow them to flourish. Doing so will then indeed cause our economy to turn around. Big business is not the enemy of the working class but its friend.  Let’s encourage Big Business to get bigger, make more people rich, and rich people to get richer. While giving executives of failed corporations large bonuses is outrageous, that is not what got us into this recession.  It might make for good fodder for the politicians, but it does not give us a solution for our present recession. Let’s stop playing the blame game and work for true solutions to more quickly recover from this recession.
Let’s stop blaming the wealthy.  Rich people buy stuff regular people make and sell thus spreading the wealth.   Remember the Luxury tax a few years back? The thinking went that rich people should pay more taxes so let’s tax luxury items like yachts. Taxing the rich, who can afford more taxes would alleviate the tax burden of the common man and thus give him relief. What happened was the price of yachts went up and people stopped buying yachts due to the tax. As a result, middle class workers who made yachts got laid off.  The very tax that was suppose to help the common man turned around and took his job. That tax was quickly repealed and rich people went back to buying large ticket items that in turn keep regular people employed.
An influential public speaker, Reverend William J. H. Boetcker, said in 1916 (in a quotation often misattributed to Abraham Lincoln), “You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.”  Let’s stop playing the blame game, and let’s stop the excessive government spending and crony capitalism.

How to live a horrible life

·         Indulge my every whim--even when I'm repeating an already disastrous scenario that didn't exactly work out the first time.
·         Refuse to forgive--especially myself.
·         Hold on to, nurse, and even embellish grudges, past hurts, and assumed wrongs.
·         Accuse others of stealing from you, talking about you, disliking you (which they probably do by this point) because that further endears you to folks.
·         Watch lots of television.
·         Buy a scooter. Walking is for sissies.
·         Try and force things to happen. It's exhausting and not trusting, but it's based on believing that I'm actually in control--of anything and everything.
·         Keep that inner monologue of self-doubt and self-loathing going 24/7.
·         --while simultaneously blaming anybody and everybody else for my crappy life.
·         Get too little sleep, indulge in too many processed foods/sweets, and take a pill, any pill, all the pills I can find--for everything from a hangnail to hemorrhoids.
·         Never do anything that's not for my own direct benefit.
·         Give up, give in, and then complain about how nothing ever works out for me.
Never say thank you.

Whoa - I'm being audited!

I'm being audited!

The IRS sent my Tax Return back!  AGAIN!!!
I guess it was because of my response to the question:  "List all dependents?"
I replied -
"12 million illegal immigrants plus a family of questionable legitimacy living in the white house";
"3 million crack heads";
"42 million unemployable people on food stamps";
"2 million people in over 243 prisons";
"Half of Mexico"; and
"535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate.”

Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.
Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky next year!!!

Deck of Cards

After reading this, you will never look at a deck of cards in the same way.
Here is a new way to look at a deck of cards!!  Please do not delete! You will be glad you didn't.

Deck of Cards

It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't been heard.
The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week.
As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk.
Just then an army sergeant came in and said, 'Why aren't you with the rest of the platoon?'
The soldier replied, 'I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord.'
The sergeant said, 'Looks to me like you're going to play cards.'
The soldier said, 'No, sir . You see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this
country,  I've decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards.'

The sergeant asked in disbelief, 'How will you do that?'

'You see the Ace, Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God.

The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments

The Three represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.

The Four stands for the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John ..

The Five is for the five virgins there were ten but only five of them were glorified.

The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth.

The Seven is for the day God rested after making His Creation.

The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives -- the eight people God spared
from the flood that destroyed the Earth..

The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy He cleansed ten, but nine never thanked Him.

The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone.

The Jack is a reminder of Satan, one of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked
ways and is now the joker of eternal hell.

The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary.

The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.

When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the year.

There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.

The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Each suit has thirteen cards -- there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.

So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that
I have to be thankful for.'

The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, 'Soldier,
can I borrow that deck of cards?'

Please let this be a reminder and take time to pray for all of our soldiers who are being sent away, putting their
lives on the line fighting

Prayer for the Military.

Please keep the wheel rolling. It will only take a few seconds of your time, but it'll be worth it to read on....

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them.
Bless them and their families
I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Amen

Catholics are now the Enemies of the State of New York

We are Now Enemies of the State
By Catholic Archdiocese of New York blogger

I have been warning for some time about the intolerance that we are likely to face from the forces of “tolerance” who backed the bill legalizing same-sex “marriage” here in New York.

The other day, the impending persecution became even clearer, as Governor Cuomo, the highest public official of New York State, declared us to be enemies of the state and nation.
He was speaking to a group of “gay rights” advocates about the process that led to the passage of the so-called “Marriage Equality Act”.  He was remarkably candid about that process, including interesting remarks about the power of money in buying votes, and the behind-the-scenes negotiations for votes.  (By the way, this account of the event comes from the “Gay City News” — I refuse to link to such a source, so you’ll have to take my word for it).

When asked if he found persuasive any arguments offered by the opposition to re-defining marriage, this is what the Governor of all New Yorkers said:
“There is no answer from the opposition. There really isn’t. Ultimately, it’s, ‘I want to discriminate.’ And that’s anti-New York. It’s anti-American.”

Savor that quotation for a moment, and drink in the depth of its arrogance, contempt, and hostility.

No answer by defenders of marriage?
·  Not the thorough and comprehensive philosophical arguments rooted in natural law, offered by Sherif Girgis, Robert George and their colleagues?
·  Not the repeated statements of the United States Bishops and the New York State Bishops?
·  Not the arguments offered by the public in the 41 states that have rejected the re-definition of marriage?
·  Not the arguments that were deemed persuasive by 85 Senators, 342 Representatives, and President Clinton when the Defense of Marriage Act was passed in 1996?
·  Not the arguments offered by Mr. Cuomo’s predecessor as state Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer, that were found persuasive by our Court of Appeals in the case upholding the real definition of marriage?
·  Not the arguments we were giving legislators in the hallways of the State Capitol and their home offices, for weeks prior to the vote?

In reality, Mr. Cuomo doesn’t just disagree with our arguments, he denies their existence.  He clearly believes that they are pernicious, beyond the pale of proper discourse, and motivated only by hatred.

That is why he has now declared that we are “anti-American” — that is to say, enemies of our nation.

Those of us who have memories of American history are deeply angered and disturbed by such rhetoric.  We recall a time when Catholics (and the Irish in particular) were deemed to be a threat to America, and were openly persecuted. We thought that we were past those days, but obviously they are returning.

And remember, the Governor’s thuggish remarks don’t just target the Catholic Church, but also the Orthodox Jewish community, the Evangelical Christian community, many mainline Protestant Churches and Muslims, and others of no religious faith who all believe in the authentic, traditional meaning of marriage.

It is a chilling moment when the top elected official of our state — a man who took an oath to uphold the Constitutions of our state and nation — has declared that so many people are political pariahs.  When he calls us enemies of the state.

This is legitimately frightening.  We all know what the power of the state can do to its enemies.

Why we need bananas

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS
PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !

Hide and Seek

A blonde gets home from work early & hears strange noises coming from the bedroom. She rushes upstairs only to find her husband naked lying on the bed, sweating and panting. 'What's up?' she asks. 'I think I'm having a heart attack,' - cries the husband.. The blonde rushes downstairs to grab the phone, but just as she's dialing, her four-year-old son comes up And says, "Mummy, Mummy...! Aunty Shirley is hiding in the wardrobe & she has no clothes on!" The blonde slams the phone down and storms back upstairs into the bedroom right past her husband.. She rips open the wardrobe door and sure enough, there is her sister, totally naked and cowering on the floor. 'You rotten bitch', she screams. 'My husband's having a heart attack, and you're running around naked, playing hide and seek with the kids!!'

Which Side of the Fence?

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on,
this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian,
he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out,
he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host,
he switches channels.
Democrat's demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants
any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it..
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this,
he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".

A Little Bit of Railroad History

Even if you didn't work for the rail road
this story has an interest for all!
Read to the end!

Train Station Watches Were Just the Beginning

If you were in the market for a watch in1880, would you know where to get one? You would go to a store, right? Well, of course you could do that, but if you wanted one that was cheaper and a bit better than most of the store watches, you went to the train station! Sound a bit funny? Well, for about 500 towns across the northern United States, that's where the best watches were found.
Why were the best watches found at the train station? The railroad company wasn't selling the watches, not at all. The telegraph operator was. Most of the time the telegraph operator was located in the railroad station because the telegraph lines followed the railroad tracks from town to town. It was usually the shortest distance and the right-of-ways had already been secured for the rail line.
Most of the station agents were also skilled telegraph operators and that was the primary way that they communicated with the railroad. They would know when trains left the previous station and when they were due at their next station. And it was the telegraph operator who had the watches. As a matter of fact they sold more of them than almost all the stores combined for a period of about 9 years.
This was all arranged by "Richard", who was a telegraph operator himself. He was on duty in the North Redwood, Minnesota train station one day when a load of watches arrived from the east. It was a huge crate of pocket watches. No one ever came to claim them.
So Richard sent a telegram to the manufacturer and asked them what they wanted to do with the watches. The manufacturer didn't want to pay the freight back, so they wired Richard to see if he could sell them. So Richard did. He sent a wire to every agent in the system asking them if they wanted a cheap, but good, pocket watch. He sold the entire case in less than two days and at a handsome profit.
That started it all. He ordered more watches from the watch company and encouraged the telegraph operators to set up a display case in the station offering high quality watches for a cheap price to all the travelers. It worked! It didn't take long for the word to spread and, before long, people other than travelers came to the train station to buy watches.
Richard became so busy that he had to hire a professional watch maker to help him with the orders. That was Alvah. And the rest is history as they say.
The business took off and soon expanded to many other lines of dry goods.
Richard and Alvah left the train station and moved their company to Chicago -- and it's still there.

IT'S A LITTLE KNOWN FACT
that for a while in the1880's, the biggest watch retailer in the country was at the train station. It all started with a telegraph operator: Richard Sears and his partner Alvah Roebuck!

Liberalism

Can one be thought a loyal patriot who regularly, daily speaks in contempt of America’s Founding Fathers and the National Documents they wrote?
Can one be thought a patriot who teaches others to hate/condemn the Founders? our Founding Documents?
Can one work to undermine all that America’s Founders and Founding Documents embrace and proclaim and be thought a loyal patriot?
Can one work to promote all that America’s Founders and Founding Documents reject and denounce and actually be a loyal patriot?
Can a person’s life, work, money and energy be spent railing against Constitutional Principles and that person be considered a patriot?
Can a person who supports our every ENEMY, especially during a time of War, really be considered a patriot?
Can a person who blames America for all the world’s ills and problems, especially during a time of War, really be considered a patriot?
Can someone who wants to take by force of taxation FROM those who earned it and give it to those who have NOT be considered a patriot?
Consider all this. Let it “sink in”. Ponder it.
Liberals walk about us daily. They often dress, look, use the same language, go to the same schools, jobs, resteraunts, stores…to the casual eye there is no perceivable difference…on the surface.
But when you begin to engage a Liberal in discussion on any issue you find that they will use our words and terms, but they use a different dictionary , Pastor Chuck Swindall said that. And it’s true. It is frustrating to discuss any issue with a Liberal because they associate an entirely different definition, an entirely different world-view to the same terms we use.
Many Liberals we meet are regular-everyday-Liberals. They simply believe the Liberal crock because that is how they were brought up and taught. They don’t mean bad- they are just ignorant of the evils of Liberalism.

But there are also a large number of Liberals who are “True Believers”. They know, understand and passionately believe in their Liberal cause. This is where we begin to unmask the treason, to reveal the traitor among us.
This group is the Steve Lerners, Jimmy Hoffa Jrs., Nancy Pelosis, George Soros, Maxine Waters, George Clooneys, Michael Moores of the world. These people can not claim that they are ignorantly following a credo they don’t fully know now understand. These people KNOW. They UNDERSTAND. They join hand-in-hand with the John Deweys, Saul Alinskys, Vladimir Lenins, Karl Marxs of the world and knowingly, deliberately work to DESTROY AMERICA.
These people are traitors. Their LIFE IS Treason.
They look, sound, dress, appear to be like and of US…but they are not.

Treason from within

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”
~~ Marcus Tullius Cicero

The Quote of the Decade

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006!

pass it on till eternity...
(...it was so nice of him to give us this great quote for posterity!)

5 Cognitive Sentences

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Footprints

This new version of the 'footprints' story really caught me off guard at the end...What a blessing.

 JUST READ IT!

 FOOTPRINTS...  A New Version

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together.  For  much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.

But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.

For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling His consistently.

You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.

Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.

This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The  footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.

Eventually they disappear altogether. There is
only one set of footprints.  They have become one.

This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place.  Stops.  Starts. Gashes in the sand.  A variable mess of prints.

You are amazed and shocked.

Your dream ends. Now you pray:

'Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You.'

'That is correct...'

'And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely.'

'Very good.... You have understood everything so far.'

'When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way.'

'Precisely.'

'So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first.'

There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice..
'You didn't know?  It was then that we danced!'

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Ecclesiastes  3:1,4.

The person in this video is a professor (Ph..D.) at Yavapai College in Prescott , Arizona . He puts a different spin on what Obama is doing to Arizona.  Must be why he's rated highly by his students - 3.8 on a 4.0 scale. This may be the best video produced on the illegal alien problems that are being experienced.

Watch the video, it is short and makes alot of sense. Forward this to at least ten people you know. We need to get the word out.

Wine, Beer, or Water

To my friends who enjoy  a glass of wine..and those who don't and are always seen with  a bottle of water in their hand.

As Ben Franklin  said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is  freedom,
In water there is bacteria.

In a number of  carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that  if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year  we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli,  (E. Coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are  consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that  risk when drinking wine &beer
(or tequila, rum,  whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a  purification process of boiling, filtering and/or  fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine =  Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk  stupid, than to drink water and be full of  crap..

There is no need to thank me for this  valuable information:
I'm doing it as a public  service

ALL  THE BEST TO YOU!

Ben Stein on Christmas

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God ? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

 Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it.... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

Job Fair for Illegals

America has a 9% unemployment rate, but the Department of Homeland Security, instead of hiring US citizens to assist in rounding up undocumented aliens and shipping them home, has chosen to authorize employing people who shouldn’t be here in the first place.
The Department of Homeland Security, headed up Janet Napolitano and in cooperation with the White House, has chosen to reward illegals with paychecks that could otherwise be going to Americans who are unemployed. According to Napolitano, DHS apparently sanctions and authorizes hiring foreigners who flout the law, citing “prosecutorial discretion” as the excuse.
What next?  Why not make exceptions for well-behaved child molesters to prove they’re rehabilitated by allowing them to work in day care centers?  Or how about, as a good faith expression of redemptive trust on the part of the federal government, giving car thieves part-time jobs at Cadillac dealerships?
At a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Janet Napolitano cited “agency leeway” as an excuse to allow illegals to work – another policy that underscores the absurdity that has defined this administration’s stand on immigration. Regardless of how family-minded, polite, or hard-working, illegal aliens remain lawbreaking interlopers who have zero regard for our country or its rule of law.

O'Reilly: Obama's 'Stubborn Ideology' Keeps Nation Divided

President Barack Obama’s re-election hinges on the economy, and if the unemployment rate does not improve, "he's done," Fox News host Bill O’Reilly tells Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview. He also advises GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney to woo skeptical conservatives by picking Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as his running mate.

Celebrate the 1995 repeal of the 55 mph federal speed limit

by taking a liberal for an 80 mph spin through Texas and Utah—the highest speeds currently allowed anywhere in the United States, though of course there really should be no limits at all. As the wind blows through your hair, laughingly quote Ralph Nader who said at the time of the repeal, "History will never forgive Congress for this assault on the sanctity of human life." In fact, as Stephen Moore of the Cato Institute demonstrated, the average fatality rate dropped—even in states that raised speed limits. In 1997, there were 66,000 fewer road injuries than in 1995. So in fact it's not speed that kills; it's ignorant safety Nazis like Nader.

*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*

1. No Tenure / No Pension.  A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.  All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security
system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for
any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote  themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen
made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Maybe it is time.
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!!  If  you agree with the above, pass it on. If not, just delete. You  are one of my 20. Please keep it going.
